First Time w/ Korean Makeup: A Multi-Use Powder & A Matt Lip

Korean skincare is already an essential for me, but makeup is still unexplored territory. I was very curious, and that's what got me to choose two Korean make-up items on my last Jolse order. A loose and translucent powder from COSRX (a brand I've already mentioned and highly praised here) and a liquid lipstick from Chica Y Chico (it's the first product I've experimented from the brand). Both cruelty-free. Click to read more!

Multi-use powder, from face to body - you can use it as a dry shampoo!

"Sebum care - Controls the excess oil secretion without skin drawing. Smooth skins - Super fine mineral powder adheres to your skin lightly just like air, controls the excess sebum, leaves moisture to present smooth skin texture. Firm fixation - Outstanding sebum control prevents skin drawing and creasing of makeup. Light fit - Fine particles which contain mint extracts applied to your skin lightly and refreshingly. Centella Asiatica & Rose Hip Extract mild formula allows even sensitive and dry skin to use safely."

I was so curious about this powder from the moment I read that it could be used for different purposes, being possible to use it both on the face and on the body! As a makeup fixer, dry shampoo, or even deodorant.

It is a very fine and loose powder that contains extracts of mint, rose hip, and centella asiatica. Perfect for controlling excess oil, for smoothing the texture of the skin, and for fixing make-up. It is very soft, being suitable even for the most sensitive and dry skin. Despite matifying, it does not make the skin too matte, leaving it with a healthy, and even a bit glowy and airbrushed look.

I tried it as dry shampoo and was honestly surprised. Because it is such a light powder, it does a fantastic job on oily roots. I do not feel the need to use too much for my hair to immediately get that cleaner look! The only downside is that the powder has little quantity - 5g. The last suggestion the brand makes is to use it as a deodorant. Apply to areas such as arms, neck or legs, where you can perspire a lot. It was the only one I did not try, but given the results I got, I believe it works.

Like COSRXChica Y Chico is also cruelty-free.

I chose the lipstick just because I found the color very beautiful, and I really wanted to try the brand Chica Y Chico. Like COSRX, it's cruelty-free, and they also have skincare products.

These "Matt Lips" are described as semi-matte vivid colors that last immensely on the lips. I agree with everything except the duration, which is quite short. This is not a problem if you do not mind reapplying throughout the day. The texture is very creamy and easy to apply. It is not at all matte, and does not fully dry, leaving a beautiful velvety and glossy effect on the lips. However, it remains a normal lipstick that comes out very easily.

The color Josephine is an orangy shade, less nude than it actually looks in the photos. It is very beautiful, but I confess it has nothing to do with the example they show on the website. There are 3 in total, and this is the clearest shade in the collection.

Although I was not exactly in love with the lipstick, I still really want to explore more of Chica Y Chico, which has such interesting and appealing products. As for the COSRX powder, I was extremely amazed and I think it is worth every penny. COSRX does not disappoint!
