A estante VITTSJÖ do IKEA veio mudar e complementar totalmente o office cá de casa (trabalhar junto a plantas motiva, acreditem!). Adoro o facto das prateleiras (com exceção da última) serem em vidro. Com as linhas a preto fazem uma estante extremamente minimalista — exatamente o que procurava para este espaço (e para juntar ali algumas das minhas plantas). Para além das fotos neste espaço, hoje partilho uma sugestão de leitura, um dos últimos livros que li: A Vida Invisível de Addie Larue, de V. E. Schwab.

I present to you my new cute plant corner. The ikea VITTSJÖ shelf completely changed and complemented my home office (working near plants motivates, believe me!). I love the fact that the shelves (with the exception of the last one) are made of glass. With the black lines they make an extremely minimalist shelf — exactly what I was looking for for this space (and to put together some of my plants there). In addition to the photos in this space, today I share a book suggestion, one of the last books I read: The Invisible Life of Addie Larue, by V. E. Schwab.
Mergulhar num livro com tantas reviews positivas às vezes pode ser um bocadinho overwhelming, especialmente quando já passaram cem páginas e ainda não estou agarrada ao livro a querer saber mais e mais. Foi exatamente o que me aconteceu com A Vida Invisível de Addie Larue — demorei a "entrar" na história, mais precisamente cerca de cem páginas (esta foi a minha experiência, claro). Depois disso, devorei cada palavra deste livro! O ritmo tornou-se outro, comecei a compreender o que aconteceu à Addie, e vivi com ela trezentos anos de uma vida longa repleta de aventuras e dor.
Ler A Vida Invisível de Addie Larue foi uma viagem incrível.
Nunca sei se desse lado gostam de saber um pouco da sinopse (muitas pessoas consideram sinopses spoilers, e às vezes concordo!), mas aqui vai... Addie Larue quer ser lembrada, quer deixar a sua marca no mundo, e faz um acordo que lhe garante a imortalidade, mas esse acordo tem um preço: ser esquecida por todas as pessoas com quem se cruza.
É um livro de reflexão. Acompanhar a vida da Addie faz-nos pensar sobre as nossas próprias escolhas. Recomendo muito. E, se sentirem o mesmo que eu senti nas primeiras cem páginas, não desistam! A narrativa ganha outro ritmo depois dessa primeira parte.
Diving into a book with so many positive reviews can sometimes be a little overwhelming, especially when it's already been hundred pages and I'm still not addicted to the book, wanting to know more and more. That's exactly what happened to me with The Invisible Life of Addie Larue — it took me a while to "get into" the story, more precisely about a hundred pages (this was my experience, of course). After that, I devoured every word in this book! The pace changed, I began to understand what had happened to Addie, and I lived with her three hundred years of a long life full of adventure and pain. It was an amazing journey.
I never know if people like to know a bit of the synopsis (many people consider synopsis spoilers, and sometimes I agree!), but here it goes... Addie Larue wants to be remembered, wants to make her mark on the world, and she makes a deal that grants her immortality, but that deal comes at a price: being forgotten by everyone she comes across.
It is a reflection book. Following Addie's life makes us think about our own choices. I highly recommend it. And if you feel what I felt in the first hundred pages, don't give up! The narrative takes on another rhythm after that.

Nunca li mas sinceramente fiquei curiosa quando dizes que após as 100 páginas ganha outro rítmo e aí sim já deu vontade de ler e vá por causa da sinopse. E falar nisso, eu não vejo a sinopse como spoiler porque é essa mesmo que eu gosto sempre de ler antes de adquirir um livro e se não puxar por mim nem compro o livro!

EliminarYou wear the dress so beautifully! And hello plant corner. It's looking really neat and lovely. I have ready books that didn't really kick in but after a hundred pages, I might have given up. LOL! I admired that you pushed through to live the life of the character with her. Reflective books get under the skin and make us think about our own life and that's a sign of a good book! :)
