70's Inspired Comfy Look, Plant Love & Calathea drama

Cresci a usar calças à boca de sino e confesso que não esperava gostar de ver esta trend voltar, especialmente sendo eu baixinha. Fuck that! Honestamente adoro ver, por isso cá estou eu a experimentar umas calças flare bem coloridas com um halter top. Resultado: muitas 70's vibes, ou pelo menos foi o que senti. Espreitem o resto das fotos e conheçam duas das minhas plantas favoritas. //  I grew up wearing flare jeans and I didn't expect to enjoy seeing this trend return, especially on me, being a shortie. Fuck that! I honestly love it, so here I am trying on some brightly colored flare pants with a halter top. Result: lots of 70's vibes, or so I felt. Ahh, calathea orbifolia, a drama queen de todas as calatheas. 

Hum, a ornata talvez seja "pior". É a coisa mais bela cá de casa e estou apaixonada por ela (nota-se muito?). Continua bela desde o dia em que a encontrei no Lidl e espero que assim continue. No entanto, no outro dia pregou-me um susto!

As calatheas são efetivamente dramáticas, mas nenhuma das moças que já cá tinha em casa se comportam da mesma forma que a dona orbifolia quando tem sede. Um dia destes dei por ela extremamente tombada para a frente e o meu instinto foi ir a correr regá-la (com água filtrada ou destilada, atenção! 😅), depois rezei que nas próximas horas ela volta-se à sua posição normal, o que felizmente aconteceu. Contudo, no meio desta espera achei por bem pesquisar o significado deste comportamento, e encontrei várias opiniões que diziam exatamente o oposto: excesso de água! Já me imaginava no dia seguinte a ter de mudar o substrato só para a conseguir salvar. Por isso já sabem, se tombar, tem sede ou é água a mais. 8 ou 80. 😂💦 A outra plantinha na foto abaixo é uma ficus lyrata e gosto muito muito dela.

Ahh, calathea orbifolia, the drama queen of all the calatheas.

Hum, or is it ornata the most dramatic of them all? It's the most beautiful thing I own and I'm in love with it (can't you tell?). It's still as beautiful as the day I found her on Lidl and I hope it stays that way. However, the other day she scared me!

Calatheas are indeed dramatic, but none of the others I own behave in the same way as the orbifolia when she is thirsty. One of these days I found her extremely leaning forward and my instinct was to water her immediately (with filtered or distilled water, attention! 😅), then I prayed that in the next few hours she would return to her normal position, which luckily happened. However, in the midst of this wait I thought it was good to research the meaning of this behavior, and I found several opinions that said the exact opposite: excess water! I could imagine myself the next day having to change the soil just to be able to save it. So you already know, if it tips over, she's thirsty or it's overwatering. 8 or 80. 😂💦 The other plant in the photo below is a ficus lyrata and I really love it.

As leituras estão um pouco paradas nestes últimos meses (acompanhem no instagram). O último livro que terminei foi o De Olho Nela de Kate Stayman-London, uma comédia romântica que aborda assuntos como os padrões irreais de beleza e a gordofobia. Rom-coms (romantic comedies) estão longe de ser o meu género favorito de leitura, mas a mensagem deste livro é muito importante, pelo que gostei da "viagem" e recomendo muito esta leitura. // I haven't been reading much on these last few months (you can follow more on my readings on my instagram). The last book I finished was One to Watch by Kate Stayman-London, a romantic comedy that tackles subjects such as unrealistic standards of beauty and fatphobia. Rom-coms are far from my favorite genre of reading, but the message of this book is very important, so I enjoyed the "journey" and I highly recommend this reading.
