How To Style Mom Jeans: casual look w/ shacket

Eu, de calças de ganga por aqui? Nem me recordava da última vez que fotografara com jeans. Andei imenso tempo em busca das mom jeans ideiais, com as quais me sentisse realmente confortável - finalmente encontrei! Aqui fica uma sugestão de como usar um par de mom jeans num registo muito confortável, com hoodie à mistura e uma shacket bem gira em tons de lilás. No fim do post há sugestão de livro, para os amantes do género YA.

Me, wearing jeans? I didn't even remember the last time I photographed in jeans. I spent a lot of time looking for the ideal pair of mom jeans, with which I felt really comfortable - I finally found them! Here is a suggestion on how to wear mom jeans in a very comfortable way, with a hoodie and a very cute shacket in shades of lilac. At the end of the post there's a book suggestion for YA lovers.

Em 2019 comprei o meu primeiro par de mom jeans na Pull&Bear. Usei-as algumas vezes, mas não gostava verdadeiramente de ver como assentavam, e com o tempo deixei-as totalmente de lado. Depois chegou o covid, e em 2020 não comprei um único par de jeans (e ainda bem), pois passei a viver maioritariamente de leggings e calças de fato de treino. Este ano decidi estar na hora de voltar à procura, e, como tenho tentado ao máximo fazer menos compras e escolhas mais conscientes, escolhi este par de mom jeans de algodão orgânico da Monki (comprei na Asos).

In 2019 I bought my first pair of mom jeans in Pull&Bear. I wore them a few times, but I didn't really like to see how they looked on me, and over time I stopped wearing them. Then covid arrived, and in 2020 I didn't buy a single pair of jeans (thankfully), since I started to live mostly in leggings and sweatpants. This year I decided it was time to go back searching, and, as I have tried my best to make less purchases and more conscious shopping/choices, I chose this pair of mom jeans from Monki (bought them on Asos).

Escolher um tamanho online pode ser um verdadeiro desafio, mas incrivelmente consegui acertar à primeira, e cheguei à conclusão que tenho em mão o meu par favorito de jeans, ever! Adoro como assentam, adoro o wash, adoro o corte. São 100% de algodão orgânico e, apesar de a Monki não ser uma marca totalmente sustentável (pertence à cadeia da H&M), também está longe de ser das piores. E a qualidade não desiludiu! Acredito que vão durar muitos anos (assim espero).

Falando em sustentabilidade, descobri um site que nos dá informação das marcas face à sua posição de sustentabilidade com o planeta, as pessoas, e os animais - Good on you. 

Ao pesquisarem uma marca, vai aparecer toda a informação que a Good on you retira, e no início será apresentado uma espécie de rating que vai até ao 5, quanto mais alto melhor. No caso da Monki, vai até ao 3 - "it's a start".

Nesta sugestão de look confortável, estou a usar um hoodie branco todo fofinho e quente da Femme Luxe, bem como uma shacket (quem também se rendeu a esta tendência?) lilás super cozy.

Choosing a size online can be a real challenge, but I managed to get it right at first, and I came to the conclusion that I now own my favorite pair of jeans, ever! I love how they fit, I love the wash, I love the cut. They are 100% organic cotton and, although Monki is not a totally sustainable brand (it belongs to the H&M chain), it is also far from being the worst. And the quality did not disappoint! I believe they will last for many years (I hope so). 

Speaking of sustainability, I discovered a website that gives information about the brands view's of their position of sustainability with the planet, people, and animals - Good on you.

When searching for a brand, all the information that Good on you gets will appear, and at the beginning there'll be a rating that goes up to 5, the higher the better. In Monki's case, it goes up to 3 - "it's a start". 

In this comfortable look suggestion, I am wearing a cute and warm white hoodie from Femme Luxe, as well as a super cozy lilac shacket (who also loves this trend?).

Ler em verso nunca puxou por mim, mas como li o With The Fire On High de Elizabeth Acevedo (um livro muito fofo!), quis dar uma oportunidade ao The Poet X, um livro totalmente escrito no formato de poesia. Que surpresa boa! É livro para se devorar do início ao fim. Acompanhamos a história da Xiomara, uma rapariga que vive no Harlem e, através da poesia, tenta entender a religão da mãe e descobrir o mundo à sua volta (e a si mesma!). É uma luta incrível, e gostava até de lhe ter pegado mais cedo (esteve ali na estante muitos meses abandonado). 

Os livros de Elizabeth Acevedo não estão (ainda?) traduzidos para português, mas se forem apreciadores de livros no género young adult, e se estiverem à vontade para ler em inglês, experimentem. Costumo comprar na Amazon e Book Depository. 

The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo

Reading in verse never really moved me, but as I read Elizabeth Acevedo's With The Fire On High (a very cute book!), I wanted to give The Poet X a try, a book entirely written in poetry format. What a good surprise! It is a book to be devoured from beginning to end. We follow the story of Xiomara, a girl who lives in Harlem and, through poetry, tries to understand her mother's religion and discover the world around her (and herself!). It is an incredible fight, and I wish I grabbed it sooner (it was on my shelf for many months before I started it).
