Healthy, Glowing Skin: Micellar Foam & Clarifying Toner

You've certainly heard of "micellar water", but "micellar foam" is new to me. Neogen explored this concept and launched a line consisting of water, oil, and micellar cleansing foam. I decided to try the foam first because it is so new and innovative. In addition, I also share with you the COSRX toner that I have been loving to use in the latest months (it promises to prevent whiteheads and blackheads). Both brands are Korean and cruelty-free.

Já ouviram certamente falar em “água micelar”, mas “espuma micelar” é uma novidade para mim. A Neogen explorou este conceito e lançou uma linha constituída por água, óleo, e espuma de limpeza micelar. Eu decidi experimentar a espuma, por ser algo tão novo e inovador. Além disso, partilho também convosco o tónico da COSRX que tenho adorado utilizar nos últimos meses (promete prevenir borbulhas e pontos negros). Ambas as marcas são coreanas e cruelty-free.

Like a magnet, micellar technology captures and draws out all impurities, sebum, and dirt, leaving skin hydrating clear and soft. The innovative PHA formula helps very gently exfoliate even sensitive and irritated skin, while boosting skin hydration for a long-lasting dewy skin. This mildly acidic cleanser helps balance your skin pH, while maintaining moisture level and skin balance.

Esta linha inclui cica (centella asiatica), um ingrediente muito comum nos produtos de beleza Coreanos. É comum por ser extremamente calmante para peles sensíveis e com tendência a vermelhidão. Trata-se de uma erva utilizada há séculos para tratar feridas. Contém também PHA (semelhante aos AHA's, mas com moléculas maiores), um ácido perfeito para peles sensíveis.

A nossa pele merece um cuidado extra delicado, e foi isso que encontrei nesta cleansing foam. Faz pouca espuma em contacto com a água, mas limpa em profundidade sem deixar o rosto seco ou desidratado — a minha pele fica muito fresca, macia e luminosa. Quanto ao aroma do produto, considero-o suave e pouco notório. Não sofro de muita vermelhidão no rosto, mas considero que a minha pele é algo sensível (maioritariamente graças ao acne), pelo que gosto de optar por produtos de limpeza delicados.

Relativamente ao packaging, 200ml é imenso produto! A embalagem é enorme e sei que vai durar imenso tempo. Mal posso esperar para experimentar o cleansing oil, que parece igualmente promissor.

"The perfect foaming cleanser for sensitive, dry skin that's prone to redness."

This line includes cica (centella asiatica), a very common ingredient in Korean beauty products. It is common because it is extremely soothing to sensitive and prone to redness skin. It is a herb used for centuries to treat wounds. It also contains PHA (similar to AHAs but with larger molecules), an acid perfect for sensitive skins.

Our skin deserves extra delicate care, and that's what I found in this cleansing foam. It makes little foam in contact with water, but cleanses deeply without leaving the face dry or dehydrated - my skin feels super fresh, soft and glowy after using it. As for the scent, I find it smooth and not very noticeable. I do not suffer from a lot of redness on my face, but I think my skin is a bit sensitive (mostly thanks to acne), so I like to use delicate cleansers.

Regarding the packaging, 200ml is a lot of product! It's huge and I know it will last a long time. I cannot wait to try the cleansing oil, which seems equally promising.

AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner is an effective toner for your flaky skin caused by lack of moisture and occurring dead skin cell, helping with early prevention of whiteheads and blackheads. Contained in AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner are mineral water (as opposed to purified water) for your skin health, natural AHA, natural BHA to clean away dead skin cell. Additionally, valid substances like allantoin provide moisture and nutrition for moist and smooth skin.

Considero o tónico um passo essencial para terminar a rotina de limpeza. É o passo final, até passar à hidratação — é o tónico que prepara a pele para receber os produtos seguintes, refresca a pele fecha os poros.

O Clarifying Treatment Toner da COSRX contém AHA e BHA, ácidos que ajudam a pele a ficar mais suave, reduzindo marcas de acne e outras manchas. Já utilizei vários produtos com estes ingredientes, mas é a primeira vez que uso em tónico. Ao contrário do que pode parecer, trata-se de um tónico extremamente suave na pele. Para aplicar, primeiramente aplico o spray num disco de algodão, e de seguida passo no rosto.

Desde que introduzi estes ácidos na minha rotina, vejo efetivamente diferenças na minha pele, e este tónico foi mais uma ótima adição.

I consider toners an essential step to complete the cleansing routine. It is the final step, until you go on to hydration - it's the toner that prepares and refreshes the skin to receive the following products, and closes the pores.

The COSRX Clarifying Treatment Toner contains AHA and BHA, acids that help the skin to stay smoother, reducing acne scars and dark spots. I have used several products with these ingredients, but it is the first time I use it in a toner. Contrary to what may seem, it is an extremely gentle toner on the skin. To apply, I first spray it to a cotton pad.

Since I introduced these acids into my routine, I actually see differences, and this toner was another great addition. That said, I do notice differences in the appearance of whiteheads and blackheads. I continue to have new apparitions, for there are no miracles, but I notice perfectly that it has become much less common. The best in this toner, in my opinion, is the feeling of softness and comfort. The list of ingredients is quite reduced (read here), and there are at least three of them that offer hydration, and that is precisely what I feel when I mention comfort.

It is the perfect toner for those who have oily skin, or, like me, combination and acne prone skin.

Posto isto sim, noto diferenças quanto ao aparecimento de borbulhas e pontos negros. Continuo a ter novas aparições, pois não existem milagres, mas noto perfeitamente que se tornou bem menos comum. O melhor neste tónico, a meu ver, é a sensação de suavidade e conforto. A lista de ingredientes é bastante reduzida (podem ler aqui), e pelo menos três deles oferecem hidratação, e é precisamente isso que sinto quando menciono o conforto.

É o tónico perfeito para quem tem pele oleosa, ou, como eu, mista com tendência a acne.
