Getting To Know Skin Watchers: K-Beauty & Cruelty-Free

Conheci a Skin Watchers o ano passado, através da Jolse. O primeiro produto que experimentei da marca foi o óleo de limpeza — um produto que depressa se tornou num essencial de limpeza para mim. A marca teve a gentileza de me enviar mais três produtos para experimentar e, hoje, vou finalmente falar um pouco de cada um.

Aqua Most Brightening Water Drop (70ml) x Skin Watchers

Skin Watchers Aqua Moist Whitening Water Drop is a oil-free gel type cream that moisturizes and brightens your skin. Using natural preservative agents this product is safe to use for children and during pregnancy. With PH level 5.6, this product is suitable for all skin type and sensitive skin type. O primeiro produto é um gel-creme oil-free descrito pela marca como apropriado para qualquer tipo de pele, incluindo as mais sensíveis. Promete hidratar e melhorar a tez/luminosidade do rosto.

Textura

A minha primeira impressão que tive foi a frescura imediata deste gel. A sensação é de estarmos a aplicar uma textura aquosa muito fresca no rosto. Tenho a certeza que quem tem pele oleosa vai adorar esta sensação! A minha pele é mista e confesso que fiquei surpreendida por sentir que a hidratação é suficiente para mim (combinada com um serum ou, com a essência abaixo mencionada). O aroma é igualmente refrescante e não intenso.

I got to know Skin Watchers last year through Jolse. The first product I tried from the brand was a cleasning oil - a product that quickly became a cleansing essential to me. The brand was kind enough to send me three more products to try, and today, I will finally talk a bit about each one.

[How to use]

After washing your face, apply toner and emulsion. Then take a small dab of water drop cream and tap your face as if to be massaging so that the cream would permeate your skin.

The first product is an oil-free gel-cream described by the brand as suitable for any skin type, including the most sensitive. Promises to moisturize and improve the complexion/luminosity of the face.

Texture

My first impression was the immediate freshness of this gel. The sensation is that we are applying a very fresh watery texture on the face. I am sure that anyone who has oily skin will love this sensation! I have combination skin and I confess that I was surprised to feel that the hydration is enough for me (combined with a serum or, with the essence mentioned below). The scent is equally refreshing and not intense.

Para além da hidratação, a marca promete que este aqua most whitening water drop tem efeito whitening, isto é, que ajuda a eliminar, com o tempo, marcas que teimam em não desaparecer. Marcas de acne, no meu caso. Não posso comprovar a 100% que o faça, isto porque utilizo mais alguns produtos na minha rotina com esse propósito (como o toner da Cosrx que mencionei há dois posts atrás). O certo é que, com o tempo, as minhas marcas mais "antigas" têm sarado por completo.

In addition to moisturizing, the brand promises that this aqua most whitening water drop has whitening effect, that is, it helps eliminate, over time, annoying marks that insist on not disappearing. Acne marks, in my case. I can not prove 100% that it does what it claims, because I use some more products in my routine for this purpose (like the Cosrx toner I mentioned two posts ago). The truth is that, over time, my "oldest" marks have healed completely.

Papaya Natural Cotton Peeling Gel (100ml) x Skin Watchers

Skin Watchers Natural Cotton Peeling Gel gently removes skin residuals and dead skin cells while hydrating your skin. With natural AHA from papaya and natural cellulose from cotton, it mildly yet effectively remove dead skin cell in a healthier way. Suitable for all skin type. Free from paraben and penoxyethanol.

O segundo produto é um gel de limpeza de efeito peeling. Contém algodão e papaia (com AHA natural derivado da fruta). Tal como o produto anterior, é apropriado para qualquer pele.

Promete remover resíduos, células mortas da pele, bem como hidratar. Concordo plenamente com a última afirmação, é o tipo de gel que deixa a pele fresca e com sensação de hidratada. Ao contrário de alguns produtos que depois de lavar o rosto, a pele fica a repuxar (I hate that).

Textura

Como o nome indica, é peeling. Ao passarmos o gel no rosto, transforma-se em pequenas partículas — as supostas dead skin cells. Sinto a pele limpa e fresca, mas confesso que não foi o meu produto favorito (também não gostei de ler a lista de ingredientes e encontrar álcool como sendo um dos principais). Resumidamente, é um gel agradável que faz o seu trabalho. O aroma não é muito intenso, mas também não é dos meus favoritos.

The second product is a peeling effect cleansing gel. It contains cotton and papaya (with natural AHA derived from fruit). Like the previous product, it is suitable for any skin type.

It promises to remove waste, dead skin cells as well as moisturize the skin. I fully agree with the last statement, it is the type of gel that leaves the skin fresh and slightly moisturized. Unlike some products that after washing the face, the skin keeps pulling and feels dry (I hate that).

Texture

As the name implies, it is a peeling gel. When we start to apply the gel on the face, it turns into small particles - the supposed dead skin cells. I feel my skin clean and fresh, but I must confess it was not my favorite product (I also did not enjoy reading the list of ingredients and finding alcohol in the beginning of the list). Briefly, it's a nice gel that does its job. The scent is not very intense, but neither is my favorite.

All New Ceramizing Essence Toner 150ml x Skin Watchers

Skin Watchers Ceramizing Essence Toner contains 30ml of essence that locks moisture in. Free from parabens, mineral oil, benzophenone, and artificial color, this product contains various organic ingredients such as lavendar water and aloe vera leaf juice powder. Using hyaluronic acid, ceramide, squalane, glycerin, and macadamia seed oil, this product deeply moisturizes your skin. Use it together with Ceramizing Cream for optimum results.

Eis a minha primeira essência — um produto tão importante na rotina de beleza Coreana. É um passo extra que, confesso, nunca me chamou muito a atenção. No entanto, esta essência funciona também como toner, o que equilibra um pouco, já que estamos a excluir um passo.

Textura

Apesar de ser uma essence/toner, para mim, a textura assemelha-se muito a um serum (talvez um pouco mais líquido). Nevertheless, gosto da sua textura leve. É hidratante e tenho gostado de o utilizar (mas não dispenso usar um serum como passo seguinte). Infelizmente o aroma assemelha-se um pouco ao peeling gel, o que confesso não me agradar a 100%.

Acho que conseguem adivinhar qual foi o meu produto favorito dos três: o gel-creme, sem dúvida!

This is my first essence - a product so important in the Korean beauty routine. It's an extra step that, I confess, has never caught my attention. However, this essence also works as a toner, which balances a bit, since we are excluding a step.

Texture

Despite being an essence/toner, to me, the texture resembles a lot of a serum (maybe a little more liquid). Nevertheless, I like its light texture. It is moisturizing and I have enjoyed using it (but I do still use a serum as the next step). Unfortunately, the scent resembles a lot the peeling gel, which I confess does not please me 100%.

I think you can guess which was my favorite product of the three: gel-cream, no doubt!
