Skincare w/ Mario Badescu | Essentials 50th Anniversary Edition

Com o passar do tempo, o gosto por cuidar da minha pele aumentou. É algo que gosto verdadeiramente de fazer. Assim, surgiu também o interesse por descobrir mais marcas. Já "conhecia" a Mario Badescu, maioritariamente pelos seus dois produtos mais famosos: a Drying Lotion (talvez mais conhecido por ser usado pela Kylie Jenner) e o spray de aloe, herbs & rosewater. Nunca tinha experimentando, até comprar este kit. Para além de ouvir falar imensamente bem da marca, sabia que era cruelty free. Excelentes razões para dar uma chance! ♥

Over time, the taste for taking care of my skin increased. It's something I truly enjoy doing. Thus, the interest to know more brands increased. I already knew Mario Badescu, mostly for their two most famous products: Drying Lotion (perhaps best known for being used by Kylie Jenner) and aloe, herbs & rosewater spray. I had never tried it until I bought this kit. In addition to hearing immensely good reviews from the brand, I knew it was cruelty free. Great reasons to give it a try!

Drying Lotion

"The award-winning spot treatment for whiteheads. Helps dry up pesky pimples overnight. Features Salicylic Acid, Sulfur, and Calamine.

Ideal for: Whiteheads."

Provavelmente o produto que mais associava à marca. Promete secar borbulhas durante a noite, e a verdade é que o faz mesmo. Deve ser aplicado naquelas borbulhas brancas (tem mesmo de estar branca) e chatas. Existem algumas mais teimosas, é verdade, mas costumo ter uma alta taxa de sucesso a "exterminar" borbulhas com este menino. Para aplicar basta pegar num cotonete e mergulhar até chegar ao conteúdo rosa do frasquinho, depois é só aplicar na borbulha branquinha e ir dormir. Ao acordar remove-se o excesso e espera-se que a malvada esteja seca. Tornou-se um essencial para mim!

Probably the product that I associated the most to the brand. It promises to dry pimples overnight, and it really does. It should be applied in those white (it really has to be white) and boring pimples. There are some more stubborn, true, but I usually have a high success rate to "exterminate" pimples with this boy. To apply just take a swab and dive until you reach the pink content of the vial, then just apply on the white pimple and go to sleep. Upon waking, remove excess and wait for the wicked to be dry. It has become a must for me!

Silver Powder

"Helps draw out stubborn blackheads. Absorbs excess oil and impurities. Effectively reduces greasy T-zone shine.

Ideal for: Oily, congested skin."

Fiquei completamente fascinada com este produto. É em pó e aplica-se com algodão molhado ou um disco desmaquilhante (por exemplo). O pó transforma-se numa pasta assim que aplicamos nas zonas "a atacar". Ele remove verdadeiramente pontos negros, mas comigo, o que noto maioritariamente são aqueles pontinhos brancos a irem todos embora. É brutal! Deixa-se atuar durante 10 minutos e o uso recomendado é de 1-2 vezes por semana. A verdade é que tenho vindo a notar que os meus poros estão muito menos visíveis, e muito provavelmente, este é um dos produtos responsáveis por isso. Tenho a certeza que quem tem pele oleosa vai adorar! Purifica totalmente a zona T e os poros ficam visivelmente mais limpos.

I'm completely fascinated with this product. It's a powder and it applies with a wet cotton or a make-up remover disc (for example). The powder becomes a paste as soon as we apply it in the "attacking" areas. It truly removes blackheads, but with me, what I notice the most are those white dots going away. It's amazing! You have to leave it for 10 minutes and the recommended use is 1-2 times a week. The truth is that I have come to notice that my pores are much less visible, and most likely, this is one of the products responsible for it. I'm sure those who have oily skin will love it! It totally purifies the T-zone and the pores are noticeably cleaner.

Flower & Tonic Mask

"Gentle, purifying mask. Absorbs excess oil and shine. Infused with antioxidant-rich Gardenia Extract.

Ideal for: Combination, Oily, or Sensitive skin."

Esta máscara funciona de modo bastante semelhante às máscaras de argila. Promete absorver óleo, brilhos e contém extractos antioxidantes de Gardénia (cujos benefícios desconhecia: melhora a textura, o tom e a elasticidade da pele). Deixa uma sensação maravilhosa na pele: extremamente limpa sem ficar ressequida. É também ótima para acalmar a pele. Deixa-se atuar de 15-20 minutos.

This mask works quite similarly to clay masks. It promises to absorb oil, shine and contains antioxidant Gardenia extracts (which benefits I did not know about: it improves the texture, tone and elasticity of the skin). Leaves a wonderful sensation on the skin: extremely clean without becoming dry. It is also great for soothing skin. Let it act for 15-20 minutes.

Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater

"Cult-favorite. Makeup artist must-have. Revitalizes with dewy radiance. Boosts moisture and glow.

Ideal for: All skin."

Já estava mais que decidido que ia comprar este spray. Felizmente apareceu este kit antes de o fazer. É perfeito para dar um boost de hidratação à pele ou mesmo para fixar a maquilhagem. Estou rendida! Gosto especialmente de o usar depois da minha limpeza de pele, antes de passar aos hidratantes. Mas também acho excelente para finalizar a maquilhagem e deixar tudo no lugar. O que mais me surpreendeu foi o aroma, cheira realmente a rosas mas é suave (não costumo ser grande fã de produtos com aroma a rosa). É fresquinho, hidratante e maravilhoso.

It was more than decided that I was going to buy this spray. Luckily this kit appeared before doing so. It is perfect for giving a moisturizing boost to the skin or even for fixing make-up. I love it! I especially like using it after my cleansing routine, before moving on to moisturizers. But I also find it great to finish the make-up and leave everything in place. What surprised me the most was the aroma, it really smells like roses but it's soft (I'm not usually a big fan of rose-flavored products). It is fresh, moisturizing and wonderful.

Enzyme Cleansing Gel

"Best-selling face wash. Exfoliating, AHA-enhanced formula. Deep cleans and removes excess shine.

Ideal for: Combination or Oily skin."

Nem sei explicar o quão bom este gel de limpeza é. Literalmente o melhor e o mais gentil que já usei até hoje. Não produz qualquer tipo de espuma. Limpa, desmaquilha e esfolia gentilmente ao mesmo tempo (sem qualquer tipo de partículas). A minha pele fica extremamente suave e tão confortável (siim). Basta uma quantidade muito pequenina para lavar todo o rosto, mas ainda assim estou a poupá-lo imenso, pois quero que dure para sempre! E não é nada baratinho.

I can not even explain how good this cleansing gel is. Literally the best and the most gentle one I have ever used. It does not produce any kind of foam. It cleans, removes and exfoliates gently at the same time (without any kind of particles). My skin is extremely soft and comfortable after using it. All it takes is a very small amount to wash the entire face, but I'm still sparing it a lot because I want it to last forever! And it is not cheap.

Comprei este kit especial do quinquagésimo aniversário da marca através da Beauty Bay, uma loja online do UK (ou seja, não há crise com a alfândega). O kit tem o valor de 39€ e é composto pelos 5 best-sellers da marca. É um excelente valor, especialmente se somarmos cada produto. Algo que adoro nestes produtos é o facto dos aromas serem todos extremamente suaves e nada artificiais. Este kit foi a minha maneira de experimentar a marca (foi também a minha prenda de anos de mim para mim, é sempre bom ter uma desculpa). Agora a wishlist não pára de crescer!

I bought this special kit for the 50th anniversary of the brand through Beauty Bay, a UK online store. The kit has the value of 39€ and is composed with the 5 best-sellers of the brand. It is an excellent value, especially if we add the value of each product. One thing I love about these products is the fact that the aromas are all extremely soft and not artificial at all. This kit was my way to try the brand (it was also my birthday gift from me to me, it's always nice to have an excuse). Now the wishlist won't stop growing! Have you tried any Mario Badescu product?
